Susie's headed back home

Hi Family and Friends.

Suzanne was released from the hospital today and is finally headed back home. Fortunately, the hospital stay went by quickly and without a doubt the antibiotics and blood transfusion have served her well.

While we are so happy that mom gets to go rest in the comfort of her home now, we are saddened by the tough news Dr. Massey had for us today. He says that mom's CA125 level has continued to increase despite the most recent drug used for chemotherapy. Suzanne will meet with him again next Wednesday to discuss her options going forward.

You can imagine how difficult all this uncertainty is for her, this incredible fighter who just doesn't know how to give up, and her family, wanting to hold on to her forever. This chapter of life is almost incomprehensible for all of us and each second of the day is filled with a rollercoaster of emotions.

Your prayers and messages of encouragement have been extraordinary. Thank you and feel free to keep them coming. (Send them directly to Suzanne at strengthforsuzanne@gmail.com or comment below.) We are always so grateful. Facing the unknown requires true faith in God, and it is a prayer for this that perhaps we need most.

Thanks and love to you all,
Lauren

I keep praying for Suzanne that God gives her strengh and comfort as she battles through this illness.

On a side note, I belong to a non-demominational Christian church in The Woodlands, Texas. We beleive that Jesus who's the son of God came down from heaven, lived as man, endured all our transgressions, and later died on the cross to pay for our sins and redeemed us at that time. He needed to do this in order for us to get into heaven. You see, you had to be perfect to get into heaven and the only way to do this was for Jesus to endure all our past and future transgressions. Jesus was born to serve as our mediator in order for us to get into heaven. All we have to do is believe this. As John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotton son, that whosoever believes in him, shall have enteral life."

But remember also, God is such a loving and humble God that even at that level, he gaves us free will and choice in which to beleive this or not. It just goes to show you his amazing power and love!

We belive that God, Jesus and the holy sprit are all one and the same. The holy spirit resides in all of us if we accept Jesus as our personal savorior.

No one knows their time, only God knows and miracles do happen! The Bible mentions examples of people being broght back to life from the brink of death and also being brought back to life period. Ex:Jesus brought Lazarus back to life.

I've also heard stories from pastors who do missions work in the very remote parts of Guatamala tell stories of modern day miracles of people literally being brought back to life from truely annoited God inspired miracles.

Also, remember illness does not come from God. It is a sin and a fact of life as a result of man's transgressions. But through the power of prayer, God is there for us giving us comfort as we go through our difficult times.

And, do not fear because fear does not come from God, it comes from the enemy. This is something I've finally learned through out my life is that it never comes from God. Only sometimes such as when we need to avoid danger but most doubt and fear are from the enemy.

As it's stated in scripture when God spoke to Moses, "Athough you walk through the valley of shadow and death, I will never leave you nor forsake you. I will be with you always through the end of times.Do not fear for I am with you always."

To me, this gives me great comfort knowing that God is always with me no matter where I'm at or how difficult what I'm going through is.

I will continue to pray for my darling Suzanne and get the word out to those who can pray for her also.

My Dear Sister-
It was good to speak with you. You are always in my thoughts and prayers.

Remembering your love of all things Irish, I thought you'd enjoy a little Irish Blessing.

An Irish Blessing
May you always be blessed
with walls for the wind,
a roof for the rain,
a warm cup of tea by the fire,
laughter to cheer you,
those you love near you,
and all that your heart might desire.

Love you lots!

For My Little Irish Sister-

St. Patrick’s Prayer
I bind to myself today:
God’s power to guide me
God’s might to uphold me
God’s wisdom to teach me
God’s eye to watch over me
God’s ear to hear me
God’s word to give me speech
God’s hand to guide me
God’s way to lie before me
God’s shield to shelter me
God’s host to secure me

I pray that you are feeling better today than yesterday.

Throughout the day,
Throughout the years,
I wish you –
Life lived well and shared.

I came across your blog through Maile's blog - I wanted to offer my prayers for your mother. I went through a similar experience with a friend, being there for your mother is the single most important thing you can do for her. Trust your instincts in her care, ALWAYS!

I will say a prayer for you both tonight!
